This is how a mobile website works
Your web address stays the same
There is no separate web address to get to your mobile website. When a customer visits your site, the webpage will recognize if the viewer is using a personal computer or a mobile device. The website then displays different content for each device. It's that easy. If a person has a laptop they will see your original website and if they are using a mobile device they will see your mobile website. Your customer will never know the difference other than being pleased with how easy your website is to navigate.
What viewers see on a desktop or laptop
If a customer is viewing your website on a personal computer they will see your original website just the same as always. The mobile website is a reflection of your original website. Of course it is important that your original website is well designed and easy to navigate as well. What viewers see on a mobile device
After a mobile version of your website has been created, your customers will see something quite different. Your website will be formatted for mobile screens. This means no zooming in or out to click on links. Navigation will be simplified for ease of use with one hand and your important content will be rearranged so that it is easily found by the viewer. Other benefits include fast page loading times, one click dialing to your business and integration with Google Maps.
If you don't have a mobile ready website
Well, your webpage may or may not show up on a mobile device. Viewers can become frustrated with the hard to find and hard to click navigation, not to mention long page loading times. Whats worse is that parts or even whole websites may not show up on a mobile device because they need Flash to run, which does not work on many mobile devices including the iPhone.
